Air Casters (also known as Air Movers, Air Bearings or Air skates) are the optimal solution for moving heavy objects in a safe and ergonomic way. Also sensitive and therefore often expensive objects can be moved with Air Casters.They are pneumatic elements that can be placed under the objects or under a frame, allowing almost friction-free transport and positioned in all horizontal directions. The Air Casters (air cushions), made of a flexible membrane, are being operated with compressed air, generally from 1 to 4 bar. A thin film of air between the floor surface and the air caster is created by a controlled “leak” of air. The air caster “floats” now a few tenth of a millimeter from the floor so there is practically no friction and it makes it possible to move heavy loads / objects with relatively low force.
