The latest generation of fanless industrial security routers from PHOENIX CONTACT Cyber Security comes as a cellular router for GPRS, UMTS and CDMA networks. The mGuard rs4000 3G from the Factory Line convinces with reliable security and performance in a robust, stainless steel casing for industrial DIN rail mounting.
The mGuard rs4000 3G security appliances of the Factory Line, engineered and manufactured in Germany, combine the powerful mGuard hardware platform and reliable mGuard firmware. Based on a hardened embedded Linux from PHOENIX CONTACT Cyber Security, the mGuard firmware integrates four complementary security components: a bidirectional stateful firewall, a flexible NAT router, a highly secure VPN gateway, a dedicated DMZ port, and optionally, industry-compatible protection from malware. Due to its front-side configuration memory in the form of an exchangeable SD card, the mGuard rs4000 3G can be quickly and easily put into operation, updated and exchanged.
As an extension to the industry standard mGuard, the mGuard rs4000 3G integrates a 4-port managed LAN switch and an industrial 3G cellular modem for GPRS, UMTS and CDMA networks with download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbit/s. The cellular interface can also be configured to act as a path-redundant option to the WAN interface. A dedicated DMZ port (demilitarized zone) with its own firewall rules allows even stronger segmentation and more sophisticated security concepts. For its part, the GPS/GLONASS receiver enables precise time synchronization and innovative positioning services. With the COM server function, you can integrate automation devices with purely serial interfaces into networks. The expanded operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C underlines the industrial standard.
The mGuard rs4000 3G is perfectly suited for the decentralized protection of production cells or individual machines against manipulations. A centralized, enterprise-wide office firewall is typically unable to effectively protect network production systems against attacks, which can frequently be initiated from internal networks. Only decentralized end-point security reliably protects production installations from sabotage and the resulting production downtimes.
For software-independent remote maintenance scenarios, the mGuard rs4000 3G can already be used as a VPN router for up to ten parallel, IPsec-encrypted VPN tunnels in its standard configuration. As a security add-on, VPN connections can be switched on and off by switch contact, SMS text message or software interface. And for all those who would like to enter the world of secure industrial remote maintenance in quick and uncomplicated fashion, the mGuard Secure Cloud ideally complements mGuard rs4000 3G appliances.
